Two arrested, ganja seized in Udupi
Kaup, Oct 03: The Kaup police have arrested two persons and seized over 1 kg Ganja.
On October 2, Kaup Inspector Mahesh Prasad received information that some people with an intention to sell drugs were in a vehicle near Jaihind Complex at Udyavara.
The inspector and his team went to the spot and found a gray color Tavera car with two people in it waiting for somebody. The police who grew suspicious about their behavior questioned them. The latter were seen struggling for an answer.
The police continued questioning them in detail when the two revealed the name as Mohammed Ali (33) of Nayampalli and Shridhar (32) of Moodu Perampalli (both places situated near Udupi City).
Though they did not have a clear answer initially, when the police continued questioning, they revealed that they had come to sell Ganja.
They told the police that one Asif had given them ganja of which about 1.50 kg were sold at Manipal and Malpe and they had come to sell the remaining one at Udyavara. The two had small packets of ganja in their pockets in addition to the big pack placed in the rear seat.
The police seized about 1.125 kg ganja worth Rs 12,500 and also cash ₹ 5,500 collected by selling Ganja.
