Birth anniversary of Dr. Annie Besant celebrated

Mangaluru, Oct 01: The 173rd birth anniversary of philosopher and educationist Dr. Annie Besant was celebrated at Besant Pre University College Auditorium on Thursday.

In the backdrop of COVID-19, the program was held with all precautionary measures and following government’s guidelines.

Kudpi Jagadish Shenoy, the president of Women’s National Education Society, Vice President Manel Annappa Nayak, and Secretary K. Devananda Pai were present.
Students of Besant English Medium High School Vaishnavi and Jeevitha spoke on the life and contributions of Dr. Annie Besant.

Besant Women’s College Principal Dr. Sathish Kumar Shetty P welcomed and Pre University College Principal Dr. Nayak Roop Singh presented the vote of thanks. Preetha, Lecturer, PU College compered the programme.
