Mangaluru, Sep 20: Twenty five houses were damaged due to heavy rains and about 42 people shifted in Dakshina Kannada district.

The coastal districts of Dakshina Kannada and Udupi have been experiencing heavy rain for the last three days.

IMD has issued a red alert till Tuesday morning.

According to officials, 8 houses were completely damaged and 12 partially in Mangaluru taluk. In Bantwal 1 house was completely damaged and two partially. Two houses were partially damaged in Kadaba taluk.

About 35 people who were shifted due to flood are shifted to temporary rehabilitation centers in Kashimatha, Killajaru and Bappanadu Annapoorneshwari Hall.

Traffic was affected due to a landslide at Kenjar Adyapady road.

Meanwhile, there was a landslide on the track near Padil Railway station.
Due to this movement from and to Mysuru via the ByPass line to the Konkan railway has been affected. Karwar-KSR Bengaluru special will run via Mangaluru Junction.
