Mangaluru, Sep 11: Heavy rain in the region for two days has flooded several low lying areas and agricultural land in Mangaluru and Bantwal.

According to officials, floodwater entered several houses in Bantwal, Ullal, and Jeppinamogaru.

About 30 houses were affected by floodwater in and around Ullal.
Low lying areas in Mulky, Bappanadu, Athikaribettu, Kilpady too were flooded on Friday morning.

In Bantwal houses were damaged in places like Sajipanadu, Kananthur, Narikombu, Nandavara, and Seraje.

There are reports of water entering several hectares of plantation and paddy fields.
Transformers and electric poles were damaged. MESCOM officials were seen attending all the cases without delay.
Officials from the fire and safety department, home guard along with revenue, and local body shifted people in some places.
