Haliyal taluk records highest number of COVID cases in Uttara Kannada district

Karwar, Aug 27: Uttara Kannada district today recorded a steep increase in the COVID cases with 198 positives and 3 deaths.

Haliyal Taluk recorded the highest number of cases (57) and also one death. 

Bhatkala recorded 22 cases, Honnavara (18), Kumta (18), Sirsi (16), Ankola (14), Siddapura (13), Yellapura (12), Joida (11) and Mundagod (5). 

Mundgod and Karwar Taluks also recorded one death each.

With this, the total number of deaths in the district has increased to 48.
