COVID-19: 279 cases in Dakshina Kannada
Mangaluru, Aug 18: In the last 24 hours, Dakshina Kannada district recorded 279 new cases and nine deaths.
According to the district bulletin of the 279 cases, 141 are asymptomatic and 138 symptomatic.
The total number of cases in the district is 9,301 of which 2,188 are active and 6,827 are discharged. As many as 173 were discharged today (6 from COVID Care Center, 111 from Home isolation and 56 from hospitals).
Of the nine deaths, five are from other districts, three from Mangaluru Taluk, and one from Bantwal.
