COVID-19: 199 new cases in Dakshina Kannada
Mangaluru, July 26: Dakshina Kannada district recorded 199 new cases on Sunday thereby increasing the total number of cases to 4,811. The district also recorded 8 deaths.
The district has 2,471 active cases. In total 2,217 have been discharged of which 90 were discharged today.

Deaths: Of the eight dead seven are from Puttur.
1. 71-year-old woman from Mangaluru died on July 23.
2. 70-year-old person Mangaluru died on July 24.
3. 55-year-old person from Puttur died on July 24.
4. 56-year-old person from Mangaluru died on July 24.
5. 72-year-old person from Mangaluru died on July 24.
6. 45-year-old woman from Mangaluru died on July 24.
7. 55-year-old person from Mangaluru died on July 24.
8. 70-year-old person from Mangaluru died on July 24.
All the eight had health issues and were also tested COVID positive. The report related to the cause of death is awaited from the district level expert committee.
