Mangaluru, July 25: Dakshina Kannada again witnessed a surge in COVID cases on Saturday with 218 cases. The district also recorded 8 deaths.
Of these 87 are with influenza-like illness and source of 70 patients are under investigation!
According to the district bulletin, the total number of cases in the district is 4,612 of which 2,370 are active cases and 2,127 are cured.
On Saturday 140 patients were discharged from various hospitals.

Deaths: 
1.67 year old from Mangaluru admitted to a private hospital on June 23 and died on July 23. 
2. 78-year-old person from Mangaluru admitted to a private hospital on July 17 and died on July 23.
3. 88-year-old person from Mangaluru admitted to a private hospital on July 10 and died on July 23.
4. 68-year-old person from Mangaluru admitted to a private hospital on July 7 and died on July 23.
5. 68-year-old person from Mangaluru admitted to a private hospital on July 17 and died on July 23.
6. 75-year-old person from Mangaluru admitted to a private hospital on July 14 and died on July 24.
7. 76-year-old woman from Mangaluru admitted to a private hospital on July 21 and died on July 24.
8. 53-year-old woman from Manjeshwar-Kasargod to a private hospital on July 24 and died on the same day. 
All had health issues and also tested COVID positive.
