COVID-19: Number of discharges overtakes positives on Wednesday
Karwar, July 22: Uttara Kannada district witnessed a positive trend on Wednesday when the number of discharged was more than the number of cases.
The total number of cases recorded on Wednesday was 63 whereas the total discharge was 96. Of the 63 cases today, half of them are contacts of the existing patients.
The total number of positives recorded in the district is 1,335 of which 616 are already discharged and 706 are under treatment.
Wednesday also saw a fall in the number of cases in Haliyal, the Taluk which used to record a high number of cases in the last one week. With 21 cases, Karwar recorded the highest number of cases. Honnavar, Joida, Sirsi, and Yellapur recorded zero cases.
However three deaths were reported in the district- two in Bhatkal and one in Sirsi. With this the total number of deaths in the district is 13.
