Bengaluru, July 16: Karnataka state recorded a steep increase in the COVID-19 cases on Thursday with 4,169 positives.
Bengaluru Urban recorded 2,344 positives on Thursday, more than half of the state’s cases. Dakshina Kannada was second with 238 cases followed by Dharwad (176), Vijayapura (144), Mysuru (130), Kalaburgi (123), Udupi (109) and Raichur (101). In Eight districts the number of positives on Thursday is more than 100.
The state also saw an increase in the number of deaths.  The total number of COVID deaths in the state on Thursday was 104. 
Here too Bengaluru Urban recorded the highest with 70 COVID deaths and one Non -COVID death. 
The total positives in the state on Thursday stood at 51,422 and total deaths increased to 1,032. The state has 30,655 active cases and 19,729 have been discharged.
