Total COVID positives cross 1000 in DK
Mangaluru, July 03: With 97 new cases Dakshina Kannada crossed 1000 mark on Friday. The total number of positives in the district increased to 1012 of which 395 are active.
The district also registered one more COVID death increasing the total number of COVID deaths to 17.
A 47-year-old person from Madikeri who was admitted at a hospital on June 2 for various ailments died in the evening. He tested positive for COVID.
Five patients with critical conditions are under treatment in ICU.
Of the 97 positives, 3 had returned from abroad, 28 with influenza-like illness, and 25 cases are contacts of patients.Meanwhile, the contacts of 41 are under tracing.
Udupi: 16 tested positives. Of these 4 are contacts of the patients and four returned from Maharashtra one each from Mangaluru and Bengaluru. The contact of five is under tracing.
Uttara Kannada: Of the four positives, three are from Bhatkal. They had come from Vijayawada. The other positive is from Sirsi who had come from Bengaluru.
