COVID-19: 90 positive including senior health officials
Mangaluru, July 02: Dakshina Kannada recorded one more COVID death on Thursday. The district recorded 90 new cases including top officials of the health department.
A person from Bantwal (48 years) who had respiratory infections was admitted to a private hospital on June 27 and died on July 1. He is tested positive on Thursday.
The 90 positive include 15 people who returned from abroad and 31 are contacts of other patients.
Nineteen with ILI and 8 with SARI tested positive. The contacts of 17 are under tracing.
Sources said that District Health Officer, Taluk Health Officer, and chief of COVID lab too tested positive.
Uttara Kannada: The district recorded 17 cases of which 11 are from Bhatkal, two from Haliyal, one from Mundagod, Yellapura, Kumta, and Ankola.
Udupi: Fourteen new cases were detected in Udupi today. Of these four are contacts of patients, four from Maharashtra, four from Bengaluru, one from Kerala, and the source of one patient is yet to be traced.
