COVID-19: 3 deaths, 84 positive in Dakshina Kannada
Mangaluru, July 01: Dakshina Kannada district on Wednesday recorded three more COVID deaths and 84 positives.
A 72-year-old person from Bengre in Mangaluru Taluk with BP, diabetes, Malaria, and pneumonia was admitted to Wenlock district hospital on June 30 and died at night.
A 31-year-old person from Uttara Kannada who was admitted with severe acute respiratory infection too died on June 30.
The 76 year old person from Uttara Kannada with pneumonia who was under treatment in a hospital died on Thursday afternoon.
The swabs of all the three declared them COVID positive. With this, the district recorded 17 deaths of which 15 are considered as COVID deaths.
Of the total 84 positives, 6 are Sharjah returnees and one person who had come from other states. 38 are the contacts of patients. Twenty-eight with influenza-like illness tested positive. The source of 11 is under tracing.
Uttara Kannada: The district recorded 23 positive cases. Bhatkal- 11, Ankola- 5, Kumta-6 and Karwar 1
Udupi: The district recorded 22 new cases on Wednesday. Of these 14 are contacts of patients. Five had come from Maharashtra, one each from Telangana, Abu Dabi, and Bengaluru.
