COVID-19: 32 new cases, 1 death in DK
Mangaluru: Dakshina Kannada district recorded 32 COVID cases and and one death on Monday.
Of the 32 in Dakshina Kannada district, 10 are primary and secondary contacts of the existing patients. One had come from other state. Nine people with influenza like illness and 6 with severe acute respiratory infection tested COVID positive. The source of 5 are under tracing.
A 49 year old women of Mangaluru Taluk was admitted to Wenlock District Hospital on June 28 with pneumonia, BP and Diabetes. She was under treatment at ICU but did not respond to treatment and died on Monday morning. The sample test confirmed her of COVID.
The lab had tested 458 samples of Dakshina Kannada. Of this 32 were positive and 426 negative.
The total number of COVID cases in Dakshina Kannada is 695 of which 265 are active cases. The district has recorded 14 death of which 12 are considered as COVID deaths.
Of the 24 positives in Uttara Kannada, 13 are primary contacts of existing patients, 10 who had come from other states. The source is being tracked in one case. Of the total 213 positives in the district, 59 are active cases.
Meanwhile Udupi district recorded 18 positive cases. The total number of positive in Udupi district is 1197 of which 139 are active. The district has recorded two deaths.
