COVID-19: 40 including an SSLC student test positive
Udupi, June 28: Udupi district saw a spur in COVID-19 cases with 40 new patients including an SSLC student on Sunday.
Udupi DC G Jagadeesh told reporters that of the 40 patients, 15 had come from Maharashtra, 2 from Bengaluru 1 from Bagalakote, and 16 are primary contacts of existing patients and 6 COVID warriors.
“Six of our COVID warriors including PHC doctor and nurse tested positive. An SSLC student, whose two relatives had COVID tested positive today. After she had written the examination, her swab was collected as two of her relatives tested positive. Today’s report shows her positive,” Udupi district Deputy Commissioner G Jagadeesh said.
The will be allowed to write the next four examinations in the supplementary examination. Necessary steps have been taken in the examination center by sanitizing it. The room where the student had written the examination will not be used on Monday. Examination will be conducted in other room.
Giving details about the positive cases in the Udupi, Jagadeesh said that of the total 1179 positive cases in the district, 1053 have recovered and 126 are under treatment in various hospitals.
