 Karnataka declares June 18 as Mask Day

Udupi, June 17: The Karnataka state government has decided to observe June 18th as ‘Mask Day’ and hold Padayatra to create awareness among the people.

Wearing Mask, washing hands with soap, using sanitizers, and ensuring social distancing play an important role in the fight against COVID. 
In the order dated June 16, the Chief Secretary has stated that to create awareness among the people about this, the state government has decided to declare June 18th as ‘Mask Day.’
The district and taluk administration along with elected representatives, dignitaries, and medical personnel will participate in the Padayatra that would create public awareness about social distancing, wearing masks, washing hands with soap, and using sanitizers. 
Padayatras have to be organized in District/Taluk/Corporation/Panchayat/Revenue ward/ by district administration. 
The government has made it clear that not more than 50 people should not assemble in the Padayatra. Also, all the participants should wear a mask and ensure social distancing and thereby be a model to society.
