Belthangady June 8: For decades people of Nandikadu, Singanaru, and nearby areas living within the Western Ghats have been asking for proper connectivity.
They had approached almost everybody but failed to get a remedy. Last year the heavy rain and landslide had hit these villages and nearby areas in Bethangady Taluk. They had a tough time reaching their village headquarters.
Finally, their longstanding demand has been fulfilled.
On June 6, Belthangady MLA Harish Poonja inaugurated a concrete road connecting these villages. The estimated cost of this is worth Rs 50 lakhs.
The local residents thanked MLA Harish Poonja for responding to their longstanding demand and making a good connectivity a reality in six months. Local residents appealed to MLA to construct a bridge across the Nandikadu Kotradka stream at Indlaje Gundi. This would help with about 20 families. Poonja assured fulfilling the demand.
BJP Mandal President Jayanth Kotyan, Raitha Morcha president Jayanth Gowda, ZP member Soumyalatha Jayanth Gowda, Mittabagilu  Panchayat president Bhaskar Poojary, member Keshava M K, Andinje Panchayat president Mohan, leaders Jayanth Hegde, Dinesh Gowda, Deekayya, Pramod, Sadashiva and others were present.
