 Shramik Special train with migrant labourers departs from Karwar to West Bengal

Karwar: Shramik Special Train, carrying 1,309 passengers left Shirwad Railway Station on Monday afternoon.

The train on the Konkan Railway route was organized by the Uttara Kannada district administration and comprised 890 migrant laborers from Uttara Kannada district, 250 from Udupi district, 96 from Chikkamagalur, and 73 from Dakshina Kannada district.
The district administration had organized special health checkup to all the passengers. Everybody was provided the necessary letter, mask, sanitizers in addition to food and water.
Team of officials led by Uttara Kannada Deputy Commissioner Dr Harish Kumar K, Konkan Railway regional manager B B Nikam, Social Welfare Office S Purushottam were present at the railway station.
