COVID-19: Eight from coastal Karnataka test positive
Karnataka records 216 cases on Saturday
Mangaluru: The number of positive cases continues to increase in the coastal districts. Except for one, all those tested positive on Saturday had come from Maharashtra. They were all under quarantine and now shifted to COVID hospitals in the respective districts.
According to the evening summary, Dakshina Kannada and Udupi had 3 cases each and Uttara Kannada recorded two positive cases.
In Dakshina Kannada district two out of the three patients had come from Maharashtra (one of them who was under quarantine at Moodabidri had committed suicide on Thursday). The third one had Influenza-Like Illness.
Udupi district health department officials said that all the three positive patients in the district were Maharashtra returnees.
Similar was with the Uttara Kannada district. Both the positive patients had recently returned from Maharashtra.
