Deceased person’s swab samples test COVID positive

Mangaluru: The person who had committed suicide on Thursday at the quarantine center near Moodabidri tested COVID-19 positive.

The person had come to Moodabidri from Maharasthra on May 20 night.

Instead of taking the checkpost identified by the district administration for the entry of outsiders, he had entered Moodabidri through the interior road at Sacharipete.

The officials had sent him to institutional quarantine at the Kadandale School. He was found dead on Thursday morning. Officials said that he had committed suicide.

His throat samples were sent for testing and the report on Friday declared him COVID positive. The last rights would be conducted as per the directions by the health department at the electric crematorium in Mangaluru.
