 COVID-19: 6 returnees from Maharashtra test positive in Udupi

Udupi: Six people, all who were under quarantine and had recently returned from Maharashtra tested positive in Udupi district on Wednesday.

Sixty-seven positive cases were detected in the state including 6 in Udupi and one each in Uttara Kannada and Dakshina Kannada. 
Of the six a 44-year-old woman and a 15-year-old girl are the primary contacts of the person who had died recently. They were in quarantine.
Four others including two men and two women who had come from Mumbai recently and were under quarantine tested positive today. “All are now shifted to our COVID hospital in Udupi,” Udupi DC G Jagadeesha said.
With today’s 6 cases the total active case in the district has increased to 17. 
Meanwhile, a woman suffering from Severe Acute Respiratory Infection (SARI) hailing from Kuttikala Neermarga near Mangaluru tested positive on Wednesday.
“The 40-year-old woman had come from Bengaluru on May 10. She suffered from respiratory problem and admitted to Wenlock District Hospital hospital on May 17. She tested COVID positive,” Dakshina Kannada Deputy Commissioner Sindhu B Rupesh told in a press statement.
The total active case in Dakshina Kannada is now 32. 
Meanwhile, a 46-year-old person who had recently come to Uttara Kannada from Sholapur tested positive. With this, the number of active cases in Uttara Kannada stands at 44.
