 COVID-19: One more gulf returnee tests positive in Udupi

Karnataka records 23 new cases on Saturday afternoon including 1 in Udupi 

Udupi: With one more positive case in Udupi, the number of active COVID-19 has increased to 6 in the district.
According to the morning bulletin Karnataka has recorded 23 new cases. 

P-1059 tested positive on Saturday is a one-year-old child who had come with her family members from UAE. The flight had landed at Mangaluru International Airport on March 12 night and all those who had arrived were kept under quarantine.

On Friday five from Udupi and 14 from DK and one from Uttara Kannada who had come in the same flight tested positive.

Dakshina Kannada and Uttara Kannada have not recorded any fresh positive cases on Saturday morning.

Meanwhile, the Dakshina Kannada Deputy Commissioner Sindhu B Rupesh has issued an order declaring the Guddekopla area of Idya village as a containment zone. This was done after a 68-year-old woman who suffered from SARI tested positive on Friday.

Executive Engineer-2 of Mangaluru City Corporation has been appointed Incident Commander in-charge of the area.
