Mangaluru: After completely sealing the Containment Zone at Kakkebettu- Shakthinagar in Mangaluru officials have stated conducting health survey there. 

Shakthinagar was declared as Containment Zone by Dakshina Kannada District Deputy Commissioner Sindhu B Rupesh on Monday after two from the region were tested positive for COVID-19.
Two people- 80-year-old woman (P-507) and her 45-year-old son (P-506) from Kakkebettu- Shakthinagar were tested positive on Monday. They were the contacts of P-432.

P-507 was under treatment and her son attended to her in the same ward where P-432 was being treated. P-432 died last Thursday.

Though the two people are still in the hospital, the officials have declared the area near their house as containment zone and taken all the necessary steps.

“There are 22 houses in the Containment Zone. We have sealed all the entry and exit points. Health survey is being conducted in all the houses there,” Mangaluru City Corporation Commissioner S Ajit Kumar Hegde who is also the Incident Commander of the zone told The Canara Post.

The mobile numbers of the officials have been provided to the residents there. They have been asked to contact the officials for any needs.

Disinfectants were sprayed in the region by the officials on Tuesday morning.
