Sixty seven year old woman from Bantwal tested COVID-19 positive
Mangaluru, April 21: A 67-year-old woman from Bantwal has been tested COVID-19 positive on Tuesday.
The health bulletin by the Health Department mentions that the woman was admitted to the hospital following Severe Acute Respiratory Infection (SARI). She is one among the seven positive cases identified till Tuesday noon.
The 67-year-old woman is a resident of Bantwal and is the neighbor of the COVID-19 positive woman who died at Wenlock District Hospital on Sunday.
Dakshina Kannada Deputy Commissioner Sindhu B Rupesh said that the woman had a severe respiratory problem on April 18 afternoon and was rushed to Wenlock Hospital.
“Her throat samples were sent to the lab at the hospital. The report has confirmed that she is COVID-19 positive,” DC said.
The woman is under treatment at the hospital.
The source of COVID-19 is not yet clear.
