No new COVID-19 cases in Udupi district: Shobha Karandlaje
Udupi, April 05: Udupi Chikkamagalur MP Shobha Karandlaje said that the 28 day quarantine period of those who had come from abroad to Udupi district has ended on Sunday and as a precautionary measure, their blood samples have been sent for testing.
She along with Udupi MLA Raghupathi Bhat, Kapu MLA Lalaji R Mendon and Coastal Development Authority Chairman Mattaru Ratnakar Hegde spoke to journalists at Sharada Mandapa of Udupi on Sunday.
“So far there have been 3 COVID-19 positive cases in the district. The contacts of those people have been quarantined. No new cases have been found in the district now. The district administration is working in a planned manner to fight COVID-19,” she said.
Shobha Karandlaje said that as a parliamentarian, she is distributing 95 quintals of rice to the poor in all the assembly constituencies in the district free of charge. She assured providing more if there is a need.
On the occasion, the MP launched a campaign to supply 1001 food kits to poor people in all wards of Udupi municipality. The kit is being provided by the Kadiyali Sarvajanika Ganeshotsava Samithi.
