Uttara Kannada DC restricts public entry to government offices

Karwar: Given the COVID-19 situation in the country, Uttara Kannada district, the Deputy Commissioner has issued an order permitting the public to visit government offices only for emergency works.
The officials have noted that public visit government officials even when there is no emergency work and also come in groups to hand over the memorandum.
Such activities could result in the spreading of COVID-19 not only among the public but even the government officials.
Considering all these, the Deputy Commissioner Dr Harish Kumar has issued an order restricting the movement of the public in government offices.
The order states that the entry of those who do not have any emergency work would be banned in all the government offices.
The department heads have been asked to decide on the definition of ‘non-emergency,’ works. While doing so, the DC has asked the officers, to consider the importance of the work.
The heads of all the offices have been asked to put up a not regarding this order.
