Traffic Restrictions Announced in Yellapur Town for Gramadevi Jatre
Karwar, Feb 10, 2026: In view of the Sri Gramadevi Jatre celebrations in Yellapur town of Uttara Kannada district, the district administration has imposed traffic restrictions to ensure smooth vehicular movement and maintain law and order.
According to an order issued by Deputy Commissioner K. Lakshmipriya, vehicular traffic will be prohibited on the stretch of National Highway-63 passing through Yellapur town, from Sankalpa Hotel Cross to Sambhrama Hotel Cross, from 12 midnight on February 10 to 12 midnight on February 19.
The restriction has been imposed as roadside stalls are set up along the highway during the jatre, leading to heavy crowds and traffic congestion, causing inconvenience to motorists.

Restrictions on heavy vehicles
Movement of heavy, long and high container vehicles coming from the Kaiga side on NH-52 will be completely prohibited from February 11 to February 19.
