Traffic Diversion Announced on Surathkal-MRPL Road for Bridge Repairs
Mangaluru, Dec. 13, 2024: The Surathkal railway bridge on the Surathkal-MRPL road in Mangaluru city, plagued by potholes, will undergo concrete repair work for 58 days until February 8, 2024. To facilitate this, traffic on the bridge will be restricted, and alternative routes have been arranged, according to an announcement by Mangaluru Police Commissioner Anupam Agrawal.
During the repair period, all types of vehicles traveling from Surathkal Junction towards MRPL and Chokkabettu will be diverted.
Alternative Traffic Routes:
- Light Vehicles (Udupi to MRPL/Chokkabettu): Vehicles from Udupi heading towards Krishnapura-Kaikamba-MRPL must take a left turn at the road next to Suraj Hotel in Surathkal and proceed via Chokkabettu, Krishnapura, or Kana.
- Heavy Vehicles (Udupi to MRPL): Heavy vehicles traveling from Udupi towards Krishnapura-Kaikamba-MRPL must turn left at Honnakatte Junction and use the Kulai-Kana road.
- Heavy Vehicles (Mangaluru to MRPL): Vehicles from Mangaluru heading to Krishnapura-Kaikamba-MRPL should turn right at Honnakatte Junction and proceed via the Kulai-Kana road.
- Vehicles from MRPL to Surathkal: Vehicles traveling from MRPL towards Surathkal must turn left at Kana Junction and proceed via Kulai-Honnakatte road.
Motorists are requested to follow the diversion guidelines to avoid inconvenience and ensure smooth traffic flow during the repair work.
