Mangaluru, August 12, 2024: The NSS Unit of the BBA Department at the Institute of Management and Commerce, Srinivas University, organized a heartwarming visit to the Sevashrama Elderly Destitutes’ Home in Deralakatte on August 10, 2024. This initiative, part of the NSS’s ongoing community engagement efforts, aimed to foster empathy and understanding among students towards the elderly.
The event saw active participation from approximately 45 individuals, including BBA (Hospital Administration) students and faculty members. The visit began with students engaging in meaningful conversations with the elderly residents, offering them a platform to share their life stories and experiences. This interaction not only allowed the students to gain valuable insights into the challenges faced by the elderly but also gave the residents an opportunity to share their memories and wisdom, creating a deep and lasting connection.
To bring joy and entertainment to the day, the students organized a variety of games such as passing the ball, musical chairs, and memory games. Adding to the joy, the students performed a series of songs that resonated with the residents, who joined in by singing along and clapping to the rhythm, making it a touching and memorable experience for all.
