Manipal: Kasturba Hospital in Collaboration with Abbott Healthcare Hosts Nutrition Stewardship Program
Manipal, May 16, 2024: Kasturba Hospital, Manipal, in collaboration with Abbott Healthcare Pvt. Ltd., organized a Nutrition Stewardship Program aimed at enhancing clinical nutrition practices. The event was attended by guests and key medical professionals.
Dr. Padmaraj Hegde, Dean of KMC, was the chief guest and Dr. Avinash Shetty, Medical Superintendent of Kasturba Hospital, Manipal, was the guest of honor. Dr. Shiran Shetty, Deputy Medical Superintendent and Professor of Gastroenterology & Hepatology, and Suvarna Hebbar, In-Charge and Assistant Professor of the Department of Clinical Nutrition and Dietetics were present.
Dr. Shiran Shetty provided an overview of the Nutrition Stewardship Program. He noted that malnutrition and muscle loss are prevalent in continuum care and emphasized the importance of nutrition in clinical practice. Dr. Shetty also highlighted the necessity of sarcopenia assessment for patients, underscoring its relevance in improving patient outcomes.
On this occasion Manoj from Abbott Healthcare handed over a Nutrition Assessment Kit to Kasturba Hospital, symbolizing the collaboration’s commitment to advancing nutritional care.
