Thunderstorm and Gusty Winds Expected in Coastal Karnataka
IMD Issues Alert
Udupi, May 31, 2023: Coastal districts in Karnataka are bracing for a bout of intense weather as thunderstorms and strong gusty winds are predicted. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a warning for heavy rainfall and thunderstorms across all the districts along the coast.
According to the IMD forecast:
- Day 1 (Valid until 8:30 am on June 1, 2023): Thunderstorms with lightning and gusty winds reaching 40-50 kmph may occur in isolated areas of Coastal Karnataka.
- Day 2 (Valid until 8:30 am on June 2, 2023): Thunderstorms with lightning expected in various parts of Coastal Karnataka.
- Day 3 (Valid until 8:30 am on June 3, 2023): Nil
- Day 4 (Valid until 8:30 am on June 4, 2023): Nil.
- Day 5 (Valid until 8:30 am on June 5, 2023): Thunderstorms with lightning likely to occur at isolated places in Coastal Karnataka.
