COVID test likely to be mandatory for frequent mask rule violators
Karwar, Oct 05: Uttara Kannada district administration is contemplating to conduct COVID test of those people who frequently violate the mask rules as they pose threat of getting infected and also spreading the virus to others.
Despite the government making wearing a mask and following social distancing mandatory, many neglect them. Many people prefer not to wear a mask and even those who wear do not do it properly.
District administration will keep a tab on such people and undertake their COVID test as they not only have the high risk of getting infected but also pose threat of spreading it to others,

Uttara Kannada district administration has taken this seriously.
“There are people who frequently violate the mask rules. The district administration will keep a tab on such people and undertake their COVID test as they not only have the high risk of getting infected but also pose threat of spreading it to others,” Uttara Kannada DC Dr. Harish Kumar said.
Dr. Harish Kumar held a virtual meeting with the Tahsildar’s, ACs, and police officials on October 5.
“Wearing a mask and maintaining social distancing is compulsory as per the government guidelines to fight COVID-19. People should wear a mask even while talking. Fine has to be imposed on not only those people who do not wear a mask but also those who do not wear it properly,” he said.
He asked the officials to click photos (as a proof) while imposing penalty.
Additional DC Krishnamurthy stressed on the need to test the primary contacts of the COVID patients.
