Hijab Row: Karnataka declares three days holiday
Bengaluru, Feb 08, 2022: Following tension in various parts of the state, the Karnataka government has declared a holiday for all colleges and high schools for the next three days.
The hijab issue has resulted in tension in various districts of the state. The state government has thus resorted to a temporary solution by declaring a holiday.
Chief Minister Basavraj S Bommai posted this on his official Twitter handle.
“I appeal to all the students, teachers, and management of schools and colleges as well as the people of Karnataka to maintain peace and harmony. I have ordered the closure of all high schools and colleges for the next three days. All concerned are requested to cooperate,” he stated.
