Udupi, Jan 09, 2022: The Annual ‘Sapthotsava,’ commenced at Udupi Sri Krishna Matha today.

The Satpotsava is the annual celebration held at Sri Krishna Matha for seven days during Makara Sankranthi.

Sri Anantheshwara and Sri Chandramauleeshwara deities are taken in the procession in the ‘Chikka Ratha,’ (Small Chariot) Sri Krishna and Sri Mukhyaprana are seated on the ‘Garuda Ratha,’ Chariot.

On Makara Sankranthi, three Chariots are taken in the procession where Sri Krishna is seated in the Brahma Ratha, Sri Anantheshwara, and Sri Chandramauleeshwara in the Garuda Ratha and Sri Mukhyaprana in the Chikka Ratha.
Choornotsava, is held on the day after Makara Sankranthi.

Today the ‘Utsava Murthy,’ of Udupi Sri Krishna was taken out in the Golden Palanquin. ‘Teppotsava,’ was held followed by ‘Rathotsava.’

Sri Vishwapriya Tirtha Sripadaru of Paryaya Adamaru Matha, Paryaya Peetadhipathi Sri Eeshapriya Tirtha Sripadaru, Sri Vidyadheesha Tirtha Sripadaru of Palimaru Matha, Sri Vishwaprasanna Tirtha Sripadaru of Pejawara Matha, Sri Vidyavallabha Tirtha Sripadaru of Kaniyooru Matha, Sri Vishwavallabha Tirtha Sripadaru of Sode Matha, Palimar Matha Junior pontiff Sri Vidyarajeshwara Tirtha Sripadaru and Sri Vedavardhana Tirtha Sripadaru of Shirooru Matha were present.
