Dubai returned youth tested COVID-19 positive in Mangaluru
Mangaluru: The number of COVID-19 cases increased in Karnataka with a positive case being reported from Mangaluru on Sunday.
A youth who hails from Bhatkal Taluk of Uttara Kannada district arrived at Mangaluru International Airport from Dubai on March 19 and had symptoms of COVID-19.
Deputy Commissioner Sindhu B Rupesh told presspersons that the person had come from Dubai on March 19. During the screening, he had symptoms of COVID-19 and was rushed to the Government Wenlock Hospital in Mangaluru.
The throat swabs were collected and sent to the lab and the report available on Sunday declared him positive of COVID-19.
He is under treatment at the hospital and his condition is stable according to officials.
Officials are also contacting the other 164 passengers who had traveled on the same flight.
