COVID total in Udupi crosses 1000
Mangaluru: With 14 new cases on Saturday, Udupi became the first district in the state to cross the 1000 mark in total COVID positive cases.
The total number of positive in Udupi district as on Saturday is 1005. Kalaburagi is next with 883 positive cases.
All the 14 those who tested positive had returned from Maharashtra.
Meanwhile, Dakshina Kannada district which registered 30 cases saw a steep increase in the number of positives on Saturday. Of the 30 positives, 25 are UAE returnees and 5 from Maharashtra.
Of the five cases in Uttara Kannada district, two had come from Tamil Nadu and three others from Maharashtra.
