Dr U P Upadhyaya, the person behind Tulu lexicon no more
Udupi, July 18: Dr. Uliyar Padmanabha Upadhyaya, senior scholar and the man behind Tulu lexicon died on Friday night. He was 85.
Dr. U P Upadhyaya, was the man behind the Tulu lexicon which was published in six volumes by Rashtrakavi Govinda Pai Research Center- Udupi.
Dr. Upadhyaya and his wife Sushila P Upadhyaya had made huge contributions to Tulu language research. He had authored several research works.
Several scholars and politicians condoled his death. Former Minister Pramod Madhwaraj condoled Dr Upadhyaya’s death through a tweet.
