Madhav Nayak files complaint against a politician
Karwar, July 06, 2021: Quoting former minister Anand Asnotikar’s allegations in a newspaper, Social activist Madhav B Nayak has filed a complaint with the ACB to probe corruption charges against a politician.
In a detailed complaint written to the Anti Corruption Bureau, Madhav Nayak has spoken about a report in a Kannada daily that appeared on June 15.
“On June 15 I read a news report where former Minister Anand Asnotikar made an allegation that the new building work of district hospital has not yet begun because of ‘demand for percentage by a politician,” Madhav Nayak narrated in the complaint.
“The work is worth ₹ 150 crores and percentage of this would mean a huge sum. This hints at massive corruption. Anand Asnotikar’s statement cannot be taken lightly and such demand for percentage can be placed only by a high-ranking politician. If the statement is read properly it hints at MLA Roopali Naik,” Nayak alleged and asked the ACB officials to probe this case as MLA comes under the purview of Public Survant.
Meanwhile BJP president (Rural) Subhash Gunagi has refuted the allegation.
“Madhav Nayak has made politically motivated allegation without any basis. Let there be a unbiased inquiry. That will reveal the truth,” he said in a press statement.
Roopali Naik has involved herself in the development of the constituency. She has also written to the CM inviting him for the inauguration of the hospital building,” he added.
