Malpe-Udupi road to get facelift soon
MoRTH grants ₹ 350 crore for development of Malpe-Tirthahalli road
Udupi, June 02, 2021: The Malpe-Tirthahalli road is all set to get a facelift with the the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) giving its nod for the ₹ 350 crores project.
Udupi MLA Raghupathi Bhat and MP Shobha Karandlaje met Minister Nitin Gadkari last week and submitted the proposal for developing Tirthahalli-Malpe (NH 169 A). The government has granted ₹ 350 for this work.
Bhat said that with the MoRTH giving its nod, the most awaited work of four laning of Adi Udupi-Malpe would commence shortly.
“This stretch will be four-lane and needs land acquisition. The Parkala-Hiriyadka will also be four-lane. But there is no need for acquisition there. Stretch from Hiriyadka to Hebri will be developed as two-lane. The Union government has approved ₹ 350 crores for this project,” he said.
The Ministry has also provided ₹ 19 crores for the retaining wall and road elevation near Seethanadi and Nemmaru.
