Pramod’s twitter vigil brings cheers for VTU students
Udupi, April 26, 2021: Visveswaraya Technological University (VTU) has finally postponed the examination scheduled from tomorrow.
Students and parents had opposed the examination as the number of COVID cases had alarmingly increased in Karnataka. They had taken it up on social media. The students got strong support from former Youth Welfare and Sports Minister Pramod Madhwaraj. He raised the issue at the government level.
He had also asked the Ministers and Chief Secretary to take it up during the cabinet meeting today.
Pramod had received positive assurance from the Endowment Minister Kota Srinivas Poojary and by evening the VTU issued a circular postponing the examination. The copy of the circular was making round on the social media.
“If the exams have been postponed I am very happy for the students in view of their good health and well being. I tried my best to put pressure on the Govt in my small way as far as I could. I pray to god that this pandemic ends soon,” Pramod tweeted expressing his happiness.
When the students gave the credit to him, he politely stated that the credit should go to the students, Anvith Kateel, and others.
