New Year’s eve: Uttara Kannada DC issues prohibitory orders

Karwar, Dec 28, 2020: To prevent people from organizing New Year parties in public places and beaches, Uttara Kannada deputy commissioner Dr. Harish Kumar has issued prohibitory order under Section 144 in five Taluks of the district.

To prevent the spread of COVID during the New Year celebration, Uttara Kannada DC has imposed prohibitory orders under CrPC Section 144 at the beaches, historical places, and public places in Karwar, Ankola, Kumta, Honnavar, and Bhatkal taluks. The prohibitory order will be between 4 pm of December 31 to 6 am of January 1.

However, this order will not imply on the government programs, events with government permission, religious program and funerals.
