Udupi Sri Krishna Matha: Krishnapura Matha Swamiji performs Baale Muhurtha
Udupi, Nov 30, 2020: Sri Vidyasagara Teertha Sripadaru of Sri Krishnapura Matha performed the ‘Baale Muhurtha,’ for his Paryaya on Monday.
Paryaya marks the commencement of a two-year term when a Swamiji, among the eight pontiffs of Udupi Krishna Math, will be in charge of offering daily pooja to Sri Krishna.
Paryaya is held once in two years and Vidyasagara Teertha Sripadaru, the seniormost among the Asta Maths seers will ascend the Sarvajna Peetha for the fourth time on January 18, 2022.
Baale (Banana) Muhurtha is the first among the four preparatory events held before Paryaya. It is held almost 13 months before the Paryaya.
The Baale Muhurtha of Krishnapura Matha Swamiji was held on Monday morning in the presence of senior scholars of Udupi. Elected representatives including MLA Raghupathi Bhat MP Shobha Karandlaje attended the event.
Sripadaru’s first Paryaya was during 1974 and the second one was in 90. He ascended the Paryaya Peetha for the third time in 2006. During his last Paryaya he has offered diamond Kavacha to Sri Mukhyaprana idol at Udupi.
