Karnataka West Graduates’ constituency to vote on October 23
Polling for the Karnataka West Graduates’ constituency will be held on October 23 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.; counting is scheduled for October 27
Karwar, Sept. 26, 2026: The Election Commission of India has announced the schedule for the election to the Karnataka Legislative Council from the Karnataka West Graduates’ constituency. The Model Code of Conduct has come into force with immediate effect in the constituency.
The election notification will be issued on September 29. The last date for filing nominations is October 6, while scrutiny of nominations will be held on October 7.
Polling will be held on October 23 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., and counting of votes will take place on October 27. The election process is scheduled to be completed by October 31.
Nominations will be received at the Deputy Commissioner’s Office in Dharwad.
The Regional Commissioner of Belagavi Division will be the Returning Officer for the Karnataka West Graduates’ constituency election. The Deputy Commissioners of Dharwad, Gadag, Haveri and Uttara Kannada districts will function as Assistant Returning Officers. The constituency comprises these four districts.
The process of preparing Supplementary List-2 in connection with applications received in Form 18 for inclusion of names in the electoral roll is currently under way as part of the continuous revision of the electoral roll after December 30, 2025.
A 24×7 helpline centre and a complaint monitoring cell have been opened at the office of the Regional Commissioner to assist voters and monitor complaints.
K.M. Janaki, Regional Commissioner of Belagavi Division and Returning Officer for the Karnataka West Graduates’ constituency, has asked people to contact the helpline 0831-2451229 in case of violations of the Model Code of Conduct or election guidelines.
