Srinivas University: Drug Awareness Programme Held at Institute of Aviation Studies

Mangaluru, July 21, 2026: The Institute of Aviation Studies, Srinivas University, in association with the Mangaluru City Police, Central Sub-Division, and Mangaluru North Police Station, Bunder, organised a drug awareness programme and interactive session at its Aviation Campus in Hampankatta on Monday to educate students about the dangers of substance abuse and encourage them to make informed and responsible life choices.
Addressing the students, Inspector Sachin Kumar of Mangaluru North Police Station, Bunder, highlighted the physical, mental, social, academic and legal consequences of drug abuse. He urged students to stay away from narcotic substances and adopt a healthy lifestyle, stressing that informed decisions and positive choices are essential for a successful future.
Head Constable Pramod also addressed the gathering and reinforced the message on drug prevention. During the interactive session, students engaged with the police officials, sought clarifications on issues related to substance abuse, and gained a better understanding of preventive measures. The officials also created awareness about cybercrime, online safety and the need to exercise caution while using digital platforms.

As part of the programme, students took a pledge to remain drug-free and promote a healthy and responsible lifestyle. The awareness campaign also highlighted the message, “Beda Bro – Say No to Drugs, Yes to Dreams,” encouraging students to stay focused, positive and committed to their goals.
The programme concluded in the presence of Dean Dr. Pavithra Kumari, Student Welfare Officer, Heads of Departments, the Guest Lecture Coordinator, faculty members and staff of the Institute of Aviation Studies, Srinivas University.
