 Srinivas University Hosts Skill Development Program “Neev Abhiyaan”

Mangaluru, Aug 01, 2024: The Department of Civil Engineering at Srinivas University Institute of Engineering & Technology (SUIET), Mukka, in collaboration with Adani Cement and ACC Cement, organized a one-day skill development program titled “Neev Abhiyaan.” The event saw active participation from around 75 civil engineering contractors and students.

The program was inaugurated by Dr. K. Sathyanarayana Reddy, Vice Chancellor of Srinivas University, who lit the ceremonial lamp. The event was presided over by Hitesh Prasad, Technical Head of Adani Cement for the Karnataka Region. Dr. B S Praveen Kumar, Dean of SUIET Mukka, and Rajath V G, Deputy Manager of Adani Cement’s Mangaluru Area Office were the Guests of Honour.

Prof. Shrinath Rao K delivered a technical talk on the “Challenges in Construction Project Management,” providing valuable insights to the attendees. This was followed by a session led by Hitesh Prasad, who spoke on “Nominal Mix, Bar Bending Schedule, and Advanced Concrete Technology” as part of the Neev Abhiyan initiative.

Following the technical sessions, participants visited the Concrete Testing Laboratory to gain practical knowledge on Quality Assurance and Quality Control (QAQC) in cement and concrete. Sangram Shriyan conducted demonstrations of various tests essential for maintaining and assuring quality in construction materials.

At the end of the program, all participants received certificates from Adani Cement and ACC Cement, recognizing their involvement in the skill development initiative.

The event was attended by civil engineering contractors, faculty members, office bearers of SRISTICA (Civil Engineering Students Association), including its President Varun N. Madhyastha, Vice President Rahul Rajesh Rai, Secretary Ratan Ramesh Puthran, and other students.
