Manipal: Kasturba Hospital Celebrates World Health Day with Street Play and Free Health Screenings
Manipal, April 08, 2024: Kasturba Hospital Manipal celebrated World Health Day with fervor, aiming to raise awareness about healthcare accessibility and disease prevention among the masses. The hospital’s nursing team took to the streets on April 7th, delivering impactful street plays outside the Outpatient Department (OPD) to convey crucial messages regarding health promotion.
In alignment with the global theme “My Health My Right”, the hospital emphasized the significance of healthcare as a fundamental human right.
A free health check-up camp was organized in the hospital, extending a lifeline of healthcare accessibility to individuals from all walks of life.
On this occasions Dr Avinash Shetty, Medical Superintendent, Kasturba Hospital said, “Earlier there was a need to create awareness among people about infectious diseases and communicable diseases but now there is a need to create more on prevention of non-communicable and lifestyle diseases, diabetes, heart disease, kidney, Cancer etc. Kasturba Hospital Manipal has always been at the forefront in such work.”
The combined efforts of the nursing team, healthcare professionals, and volunteers culminated in a resounding success, with scores of individuals benefiting from the free health check-up program. More than 1000 people benefited from this program.
