Karwar, Nov 07, 2023: During the meeting on Tuesday, Deputy Commissioner Gangu Bai Manakar pledged to prioritize the disbursement of crop insurance payouts to district farmers in accordance with the extent of crop damage. She affirmed the commitment to prevent any undue losses for farmers during compensation distribution.

Addressing farmer leaders and crop insurance company representatives, the DC stressed the importance of accurate recording of crop yields during damage surveys to avoid discrepancies.

She urged crop insurance companies to furnish farmers with proper receipts for the insured amount and comprehensive insurance details. To address crop insurance-related concerns, including payout procedures, Manakar advocated for the establishment of offices in every two taluks, along with dedicated staff to offer prompt service to farmers.

Highlighting the district administration’s proactive approach to address farmers’ issues, the Deputy Commissioner unequivocally assured that farmers in the district would not face losses or deception.

The meeting witnessed the participation of farmer leaders, officials from the agriculture department, and representatives from insurance companies.
