Karwar, Oct 11, 2023: In a remarkable display of dedication, Deputy Commissioner Gangu Bai Manakar attended to the concerns of hundreds of people well into the night during the Deputy Commissioner’s Janata Darshan program in Banavasi on October 10.

Following this, she shared a meal with the officers and staff of Dr BR Ambedkar Residential School in Banavasi and stayed at Banavasi.

The following morning at 7 am, the DC led a group of officers and staff armed with brooms, embarking on a mission to spruce up the surroundings of the Banavasi bus stand. Post this, she indulged in a hearty breakfast at Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Residential School and ventured out to visit the nearby ST colony.

There, she engaged with the residents, inquiring about their concerns and ensuring they were aware of the various government benefits available to them. The DC urged them to make the most of initiatives including the Grihalakshmi Yojana, emphasizing that it was their right to access these facilities.

She also instructed officials from the Social Welfare Department to furnish detailed information about the services extended by the government, with a promise to ensure timely delivery.

Additional Deputy Commissioner Prakash Rajput, Sub-Divisional Officer Devaraj, District Social Welfare Officer Ajjappa Solagada, Deputy Director of Women and Child Development Department Kukanoora, along with other officials were present.

Despite the rigorous day, all officials, who had made their way from Karwar to partake in the Janata Darshan programme, returned to their respective duties as usual. The DC who had initially arrived in Banavasi by bus from Karwar, stuck to her pre-scheduled itinerary. From Banavasi, she proceeded to a meeting organized by the Dandeli Municipal Council.

The DC’s Janata Darshan Program instilled hope among the people of Banavasi that their longstanding issues would be addressed.

The DC also issued directives to all officers to diligently review the representations made, taking possible actions within the legal framework of their respective domains. She underscored the importance of inter-departmental coordination and urged for the swift provision of government facilities to the public within the stipulated time frame.
