Mangaluru, October 5, 2023: GAIL Gas Limited (GGL), a trailblazer in the City Gas Distribution (CGD) sector, is forging ahead with its ambitious CGD project in the Dakshin Kannada district of Karnataka. This initiative aims to provide Piped Natural Gas (PNG) to residential, commercial, and industrial consumers, while also offering Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) as an environmentally friendly fuel alternative for the automotive sector.

The venture encompasses prominent towns such as Bantwal, Belthangady, Mangaluru, Puttur, and Sullia, offering Piped Natural Gas (PNG) for residential and commercial use, along with Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) as an eco-conscious automotive fuel.

GAIL Gas has already initiated industrial PNG supply in Mangaluru’s Baikampady Industrial Area, serving 13 operational factories and 13 thriving commercial entities. Additionally, the region boasts 18 operational CNG refueling stations.

GAIL Gas achieves a noteworthy milestone by swiftly enabling PNG supply to domestic, commercial, and industrial segments in Dakshina Kannada district. Presently, 72 households in NMPA colony and KIADB colony in Baikampady Panambur, Mangaluru, enjoy the benefits of PNG.

In a further stride, GAIL Gas has finalized Gas Sale agreements for PNG supply to an additional 40 industrial units and 124 commercial establishments, including hotels and restaurants. The community’s response has been overwhelmingly positive, with over 1,10,000 registrations received for Domestic PNG connections (DPNG) from households, flats, apartments, and individual residences.

GAIL Gas demonstrates unwavering commitment to expanding the natural gas network over the next 8 years, with plans to establish 100 CNG refueling stations across the district. Soon, areas like Puttur, Sullia, and Nellyadi will have access to CNG. Additionally, 3,50,000 households within the district are slated to benefit from safe and accessible PNG fuel. The inaugural phase will witness PNG connectivity in Surathkal, Mukka, Mulki, Kulai, and Bondel, with subsequent expansion into other residential regions.

GAIL Gas remains steadfast in its mission to offer clean and accessible energy solutions to the Dakshin Kannada community. Registration for Domestic PNG connections is seamlessly facilitated through the PNG Mitra App, with round-the-clock customer support available at 1800-102-9282.
