Karnataka Governor attends Indian Coast Guard’s Raising Day Celebration in Mangaluru
Mangaluru, Feb 02, 2023: Karnataka Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot participated in the Indian Coast Guard’s 47th Raising Day celebration held at its headquarters in Mangaluru today.
During the event, Governor Gehlot emphasized the crucial role the Indian Coast Guard plays in protecting the nation’s coastal borders, with its protection, relief, and rescue operations covering 7,500 kilometers of the country’s coast.
He also highlighted the significance of maritime trade and transportation for the world economy and its contribution to growth. He noted the increased significance of these industries, evident in the growth of the Indian economy and a corresponding rise in domestic and international maritime traffic over the past two decades.
Gehlot expressed confidence in the Indian Coast Guard’s efficiency and dedication to its mission. He encouraged the organization to continue its efforts towards developing India and establishing the country as a leader on the global stage. He also called on the Indian Coast Guard to remain engaged with the public and inspire others to contribute to the progress of the nation.
The event was attended by several dignitaries, including Praveen Kumar Mishra, Commander of the Karnataka Coast Guard, and Dakshina Kannada Deputy Commissioner Ravikumar.
